Everyone begins as an acquaintance. First Names checks profile pictures on-device and keeps logos, flowers, placeholders, and ambiguous group photos out of Nameday. Warm regards remain available for later review.

How First Names works

A first name is the smallest unit of real relationship.

Anyone can hold thousands of connections. Producing a name from memory — and comfortably opening a message with it — is something else.

You stay in control

The extension reads only your own connection, follower, and following lists, only after you choose one, with a visible progress state.

Faces must be useful

Face detection happens locally. Missing pictures, logos, flowers, and ambiguous group photos stay out of Nameday until you replace them.

Recall, not recognition

You type the name. Handles, first names, surnames, and small typos are accepted. Hints help without pretending assisted recall is perfect recall.

Say hi when the relationship still matters. Choose Warm regards when it does not. No guilt, no ranking people, and no treating anyone like clutter.
